Pakistan has sent a hard-line Muslim cleric to persuade the Taliban to lay down their arms. It’s part of a deal that would see Islamic law imposed in the region and an end to the government military offensive there. But NATO is warning that the result might be the creation of a safe haven for Taliban and al-Qaida fighters. John Diamond, national security expert and author of “The CIA and the Culture of Failure”, joins us with more.
