The Department of Health and Human Services is working on a center for social media — to bring together the agency’s efforts to use social media as a communications tool. That’s about the time the peanut recall hit. Dick Stapleton is the national content manager for the HHS departmental websites. He says it was a natural step to put the information out about the recalls using social media tools like Twitter and You Tube. He calls it a “live laboratory.”
