Calling all friendly hackers – the government wants you!
The U.S. Cyber Challenge has kicked off round two of a contest for hackers who might work at your agency one day.
It’s the Cyber Quest competition, an invitation for competitors to break into a file and answer questions about it. The winners get to advance to a camp with hands-on training that culminates in a team competition.
Karen Evans, director of the U.S. Cyber Challenge, said the competition is a way to tap into future cyber talent using online games to attract participants.
The hope is that the government succeeds at “keeping them engaged and keeping their interest going so they will want a career in this field,” Evans said.
