DISA takes lead in virtualization efforts

DISA is working on a follow-on contract to the current deal that includes virtualization services the follow-on is expected to be awarded in 2014.

The Defense Information Systems Agency is taking the lead on the Pentagon’s virtualization efforts. The agency should be fully virtualized by the end of 2011. The agency is buying capacity-as-a-service, according to DISA Computer Services Director Alfred Rivera, Defense Industry Daily reports.
