Symantec software crashed military health database

Symantec’s Veritas storage software had caused a shutdown of a military health database.

The Armed Forces clinical data repository crashed this week. It houses almost 10-million electronic records for military personnel and their families.

NextGov reports that DISA — which manages the system and repository —eventually had to take the system down to fix the issues. An older version of the software will be running until Symantec produces a patch.
