The Navy is already preparing to teach the next generation of sailors how to fly the F-35 C Lightning Two Joint Strike Fighter, according to a post on Navy.mil.

The C series, which is in full production at the Lockheed Martin plant in Fort Worth, Texas, will have larger wing surfaces and reinforced landing gear that will make it easier for take-off and landing on carriers.

The Navy expects to deploy the first of the fleet in 2017-2018.
