The Office of Personnel Management kicked off a series of webcasts on Wednesday, Nov. 2, designed to educate federal employees and retirees on the Open Season process. This year’s open season runs from Nov.14-Dec. 12, 2011, when feds can update their health plans.

The webcasts cover a range of topics, including “Introduction to Open Season,” “Do I have the Right Health Benefits Program?” and “The Federal Flexible Spending Account Program.”

The one-hour webcasts begin at 1:30 p.m. EST. Viewers will need a broadband (high-speed) Internet connection and a Windows Media Player 9.x or higher to view the webcasts. OPM urges employees watching at work to view the webcasts in a central location due to bandwidth issues.

The webcast stream will be available 24 hours before the webcast is scheduled to begin. Webcasts can also be viewed with captioning.
