Senate hears testimony on line-item veto

Earlier this week, President Obama sent to Capitol Hill a proposal that would give him the authority to veto individual provisions in an agency spending bill — a line-item veto.

Today, a Senate subcommittee heard testimony on this and other similar measures designed to let the President trim federal spending.
