Same sex marriage on hold

Lawyers are reviewing whether permitting same-sex marriages on U.S. Navy bases will work. They’re also checking into whether allowing chaplains to officiate would be acceptable as well once a ban on gays serving openly in the armed forces is lifted. This all happened after Rear Admiral M.L. Tidd, the chief Navy chaplain hastily suspended a memorandum he issued a month ago that would’ve opened the door to same sex weddings or civil unions on Navy bases in states where it is legal.
