Feds & the 2016 presidential race

This week on “Fed Access”, Eric Katz, staff writer for Government Executive, joins host Derrick Dortch to discuss the 2016 presidential campaign, and what the federal government would look like if either Donald Trump (R) or Hillary Clinton (D) is elected to the nation’s highest office.

Katz will talk about the management styles of the two likely nominees, and how their proposals, if enacted, will affect feds. For example he discusses each candidate’s views on defense spending, Common Core, No Child Left Behind, the ongoing controversy at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and whether they plan any changes to hiring and firing process for federal employees.

Katz will also discuss how feds feel about Trump and Clinton and cites a recent survey which says one-fourth of all federal employees  would consider leaving government service if Trump is elected.
