Jeff Volosin, TESS project manager at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, holds a spare camera lens and a model of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) for media March 28 at NASA Headquarters in D.C. TESS is designed to discover thousands of exoplanets in orbit around stars over a two-year period, and will monitor more than 200,000 stars for temporary drops in brightness caused by planetary transits. This will be the first-ever spaceborne all-sky transit survey.
