Verizon: data is safer in the cloud

Cloud provider Verizon says cloud storage is safer.

Wireless tablet computers plus cloud computing add up to more data security. That’s what Verizon is saying as it begins to sell Apple iPads and a new tablet based on the Google Android. Verizon is also one of eleven companies recently awarded GSA contracts to provide cloud computing services. How does cloud help cyber? Verizon officials point out that the latest tablets don’t store photos, videos and other data. Instead, they use the cloud to store data. So if the machine is lost of stolen, the data remains safe. NextGov reports Verizon and other cloud providers offer a storage option that keeps data off the internet.
