DHS counts increasing cybersecurity among highlights

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano highlighted the Department’s 2010 accomplishments in an address to employees. One of the biggest: to safeguard and secure cyberspace. In this past year alone:

  • DHS entered an agreement with the Defense Department to protect civilian and military computer systems
  • Napolitano launched the National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign Challenge and the “Stop. Think. Connect.” campaign
  • DHS hosted Cyber Storm III, which tested the federal government’s cybersecurity response capabilities

And the department launched an early warning cyber security system.
