DoD awards $1B contract for Afghan training

DynCorp International will provide support to 14 training facilities in Afghanistan.

The Army has awarded a $1 billion contract to DynCorp International based in Falls Church, Va.

The award will provide training and mentoring services for the government of Afghanistan, Defense.gov reports. It will also provide logistics and life support components for 14 training facilities in Afghanistan.

Bids were solicited through the internet, with DynCorp beating out seven other competitors.
