DoD IG: Navy failed to review costs from drone contract

The Navy is taking criticism for not double-checking the numbers on bills worth more than $329 million. The invoices were part of a contract with Northrop Grumman for drones to be used in ocean reconnaissance. The DOD inspector general says the Navy didn’t validate the invoices. NextGov reports that in one case, the military service approved bills worth more than $40 million, without any review.
