For some federal employees, sustainability is not just a presidential mandate but also a calling. In fact, federal public service itself is something they always hoped to do. Both came together for Nancy Gillis, the director of the Supply Chain Emissions program management office at the General Services Administration.

The PMO is about to publish results from its efforts to get the government’s suppliers and the suppliers’ suppliers to go green.

She talked to Federal News Radio at the AFCEA Bethesda Energy and the Environment IT Day.

A first generation immigrant, Gillis is proud to work for the federal government, which she joined three months ago.
