DARPA puts call out for satellite wranglers

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is calling on programmers everywhere to help wrangle old satellites stuck in space for salvage. Government Computer News reported the Zero Robotics Autonomous Space Capture Challenge will begin on March 28. Participants will develop algorithms for guiding the satellites through the weightless world of outer space. Winners will be invited to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where they will be able to see their algorithms tested. DARPA said solving this problem could benefit any space serving system.
