Patent Office offers data on its decision-making process

USPTO's Chief Data Strategist Tom Beach hopes big data will help the public better understand the patent-granting process.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)has published a data-set detailing the millions of decisions made by patent examiners in the past few years. The information could be of value to not only the everyday inventor. But as the USPTO’s chief data analyst Tom Beach told  Federal Drive with Tom Temin, the data could also benefit patent attorneys, other patent holders, and international users of intellectual property.
