Today’s guest is Jesse Fewell, a well-known local consultant with a specialization on agile software development.   He gives a presentation on agile software development from the perspective of the program manager.  Fewell started off the interview talking about creative ways for federal workers to collaborate. In fact, he recently wrote an article for LinkedIn Pulse titled, “Yes, Virginia.  Collaboration can save government.”

He shows how gaming can assist in generating ideas from citizens and fellow workers.  The focus here is on a system called the “Innovation Games” popularized by Luke Hohmann.

Jesse works with the local Project Manager’s Institute (PMI)  group to give opportunities for discussion about agile development best practices. You may want to attend the January discussion in Reston on approached to agile software development.

During the interview Fewell gave frank answers to many of the common critiques to agile software development including lack of overall project design, excessive planning, and testing.
