“…And now for something completely different.”

Finally, after eleven years, something different.  “Federal TechTalk” has spent over a decade conducting weekly interviews with a wide range of people and topics. The focus is on how to help the beleaguered federal information technology professional.

One half of today’ show is an interview with Rep. Will Hurd, the chairman of the Information Technology Subcommittee on Oversight and Government Reform. The second half is a “retrospective” from the host of Federal TechTalk, John Gilroy.

Rep. Hurd talks about ways he is trying to change the way information technology is acquired and how success is evaluated by the federal government.  This is quite the task.  Rep. Hurd is quite the interesting character – he speaks Urdu and Spanish and has a degree in computer science.

The Congressman from Texas has an unusual ability to see through the clutter in the complex problem of IT in government. John Gilroy tries to see the trends out of the hundreds of hours of interviews in the past eleven years. The monologue ranges from drones to cybersecurity.  One interesting aspect is the logic behind selecting guests, especially Rep. Will Hurd.
