This show is … delicious from start to finish!

First up, The Royal in DC’s Ledroit Park is a tiny little spot that has earned big honors as a 2017 Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient. Chef Cable Smith is in to tell us how that happened and with his signature biscuits that, according to our taste buds, definitely justify the award!

Tortilladora is a new, delivery-only concept that uses Uber (and soon Grub Hub) to get fresh, delicious tortillas and other yummies fresh, warm and right to your doorstep in no time at all. Chef/owner Ed McIntosh, formerly of DC’s beloved Matchbox, is the man behind the concept and the stove, and he’s in with tastes an talk of Tordilladora.

Jrink co-founder Shizu Okusa was in with us a while back when she launched the first Jrink, serving cold-pressed, ultra-healthy drinks made from organic fruits and vegetables. She and her partner now have five stores, with more coming, and have added a line of flavored waters special designed to balance our bodies’ alkaline levels. Why’s that important? Listen and learn!

Veg Fest is the annual, free festival celebrating both health and environmental benefits of veggie-based diets AND compassion for animals. Sponsored by DC nonprofit, Compassion Over Killing, the event will feature a broad spectrum of vendors who can help you (and us!) live a healthier, vegetable-driven lifestyle. COK’s executive director, Erica Meier, is in.
