Decisions, decisions, decisions

July 8, 2013 — This week on For Your Benefit, retirement coach and certified mediator Mike Townshend joins host Bob Leins to discuss tips and techniques that families can use to help aging family members continue to live successfully and make the necessary choices for life in regards to safety and security.

They discuss preparing a care contract for the family.

A care contract is a detailed set of instructions prepared by a family member which outlines a series of events, both physical and mental, that will tell the family that he or she is no longer able to perform certain activities.

These instructions spell out in detail what to do when a family member, for example, is no longer able to handle paying the bills, managing the finances, or driving a car.
