Ask the CIO online chat with Jonathan Alboum, CIO of the USDA.

Jonathan Alboum, the Agriculture Department’s chief information officer, joined Federal News Radio for a free online chat. Alboum discussed USDA’s plans to consolidate more than a dozen disparate networks, to ensure access to data in order to improve decision-making across the bureaus, and to use shared services for commodity IT.

Executive Editor Jason Miller moderated the chat which was underwritten by DLT Solutions and Oracle.

Alboum took part in the chat after his appearance on Federal News Radio’s Ask the CIO program.

Registration is required to view the archive. Participants were able to ask Alboum their own questions in real-time.

GUEST BIOGRAPHY: 

Jonathan Alboum has been USDA CIO since June 2015. Prior to coming to USDA, Alboum worked at the General Services Administration and USDA, including as CIO of the Food and Nutrition Service. Alboum earned a Master’s degree in the Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.
