The Partnership for Public Service announced its 26 finalists for the 2017 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal, which recognizes top federal employees who have stood out in their fields. The Partnership, which bills the awards as the “Oscars of government service,” will honor the finalists at a May 9 reception, as part of Public Service Recognition Week.

Career achievement medal finalists

This award recognizes federal employee for their continued accomplishments throughout a federal career of 20 or more years.

  • Jitender P. Dubey – microbiologist, Agricultural Research Service
  • Dr. Tedd V. Ellerbrock – chief of HIV Care and Treatment Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Joseph J. Seebode – deputy district engineer and chief of programs and project management, Army Corps of Engineers
  • Hanwant B. Singh – senior scientist, NASA Ames Research Center
