WASHINGTON, D.C. – Federal News Radio 1500 AM is accepting nominations now through July 12 for the fourth annual Causey Awards which recognize and highlight achievements in the human capital management field.

Nominations should focus on those individuals who have gone above and beyond in 2012 to improve pay, benefits, human resources and human capital issues in the federal government and in industry. The award named after Mike Causey, Federal News Radio’s Senior Correspondent, honors his life-long dedication to the reporting of federal workforce management and federal pay and benefits issues.

Some of the past Causey Award winners include: •Jennie Liming, General Services Administration – Ms. Liming created, implemented and manages a program to develop entry-level employees into mission critical leaders within GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service. (2010)

•Debra Vess, Treasury – Ms. Vess streamlined HR Connect’s onboard system to reduce paperwork, time, and improve accuracy to the process of bringing new employees into an agency. (2011)

•Kevin O’Brien, Social Security Administration – Mr. O’Brien led the SSA’s Office of the Inspector General’s telework initiative, which increased the number of teleworking employees from as few as five employees to 90 regular teleworkers. (2012)

Nominations for the 2013 Causey Awards will be accepted through midnight on Friday, July 12 and can be submitted online at FederalNewsRadio.com. The submissions will be judged by a panel of experts from the human capital management field as well as staffers from Federal News Radio. Winners will be announced exclusively on Federal News Radio and FederalNewsRadio.com.
