Hugh Scott is a program and management analyst in the VA/DoD Health Information Sharing office under the VHA Office of Informatics and Analytics. He was currently assigned to the VA/DoD Collaboration Service in the Office of Policy and Planning. Prior to joining VA in August 2007, Hugh worked at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as the Advanced Trauma Life Support Coordinator and the Radiology Department PACS manager.

Mr. Scott enlisted in the United States Navy in 1980 and was commissioned in 1991. He retired from active naval service in 2004 and continued his government service that same year.

Mr. Scott has held many positions in Navy Medicine to include work on electronic health record solutions and other informatics projects as assigned by the medical staff. He received numerous civilian and military awards and has published professional articles in the fields of Oncology and Informatics. Mr. Scott was born at Fort Benning, Georgia. He received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in 1991 and his Master of Science in Advanced Adult Health and Informatics from Hampton University in 1998. He is married to Mary Scott and has a daughter, Sarah and a son, Ryan.
