Andrew Battin is the Director of the Office of Information Collection in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Environmental Information. He is a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) and has over 25 years of information technology experience. His current responsibilities include oversight for the National Environmental Information Exchange Network; the Agency’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), privacy and records management programs; EPA’s Central Data Exchange (CDX); the eRulemaking initiative and the eDiscovery program. Since 1987, he has held a variety of positions at EPA’s Office of Water and Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, including Senior Information Resource Management Official (SIRMO) in the Office of Water and EPA’s National Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program Manager.

Prior to joining EPA, Mr. Battin earned a Bachelors degree in Geo-environmental Studies from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, a Chief Information Officer certificate from the National Defense University, and completed a number of professional training programs, including programs at the Federal Executive Institute. Andrew Battin also serves on the advisory board of the Professional Science Master’s program at the University of Maryland University College and was a 2013 Federal 100.
