FedRAMP’s Joint Authorization Board is celebrating a milestone. The Board awarded its first joint infrastructure and platform cloud solution a Provisional Authority to Operate. The P-ATO is going to Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure and the Windows Azure public cloud solution. FedRAMP’s Joint Authorization Board includes cloud representatives from the Defense Department, the Homeland Security Department, and the General Services Administration. With the P-ATO, the Microsoft cloud options are pre-certified to meet federal security requirements and helps speed up the contracting process.
