The U.S. Postal Service continues to insist changes are necessary to help deal with budget woes in the face of congressional resistance. The Postal Service also is accelerating the closure of 53 mail processing plants.
The U.S. Postal Service’s independent regulatory body may raise the price of a postage stamp after it finishes reviewing the current rate-setting system later this fall.
The U.S. Postal Service’s regulatory body announced that it would allow some additional flexibility to increase the price of postal products, but would keep a price cap in place for any future rate hikes.
