EPA shares lessons learned about Web 2.0 policy

EPA\'s Director of Web Communications discusses the challenges, and benefits, of having a solid agency-wide Web 2.0 policy.

Blogs, wikis, podcasts, online videos all offer agencies opportunities to engage with the public in new ways, but all of this new technology is presenting some new challenges, too.

The Environmental Protection Agency says their updated social media policy, released in January, will help them meet their mission.

They plan to create new social media tools and, where appropriate, participate in existing tools by adding the Agency’s official perspective.

Jeffrey Levy is the EPA’s Director of Web Communications and discusses the agency’s new policy, as well as how it might help EPA reach out to the public.
