1. Alcohol or Substance Abuse

An employee with a drug or alcohol addiction may exhibit behavior that demonstrates they are a potential security risk. Signs of addiction may include showing up to work intoxicated, sleeping at his or her desk or concealing alcohol at work or in a car.
