For the past 20 years, The Council for Excellence in Government has released its Prune Book after every major election. It’s a play off The Plum Book which lists all of the positions to be appointed by the new president. The Prune Book, by comparison, goes beyond the list of job descriptions and offers some behind-the-scenes details for prospective employees.
