Hackers exploit Adobe Reader flaw

Symantec warns of security flaw that could affect defense contractors.

Security researchers at Symantec say hackers have exploited a security flaw in Adobe Reader to attack defense contractors. Joshua Talbot is a senior security manager at Symantec’s response group. He tells Computer World, this is the latest in a string of exploitations aimed at specific industries. Telecomm, manufacturing, computer hardware and chemical companies have also been hit. Adobe issued a warning earlier this week about security holes in products running on PCs. The company says it learned of them from Lockheed Martin’s response team and the Defense Security Information Exchange.
